Act 1 Scene 2
With each being deeply rooted in its own rich cultres, the six gangs lived separately yet harmoniously under the governance of the great city leader.
One day, the headlines read that the Great Dance Maestro aka director had passed on for reasons unbeknown to anyone. This clain was made after he had disappeared without a trace. The six dance leaders were dumbfounded." How could the Dance Maestro die?" was one of the many questions that ran through the dance leaders' minds. But the answer could not be found immediately. Without the Great Dance Maestro, all six dance crews were at a loss about what to do. In their distress, each dance crew had an overwhelming suspicion of the other crews of having assassinated their gangs' personal advisor, the Great Dance Maestro and disposed of with much distrust, all that their clan could assume power over all six dance crews or it could be because they wanted to eradicate the idea of having a fusion dance for all the crews. They were certain that if anyone were to take the Great Dance Maestro's place, it would be them who was most worthy.
After a spate of heated discussions, the six crew leaders reached no consensus and it culminated into a battle that involved the members of the six crews.
Act 2
On the night, the sky was pitched black with no street lamps illuminating the night. Everyone waited as the six dance crews staged their entrance into the city square and displayed mind-blowing dence sequences that were unique to their clan. It was impossible to determine a winner and the battle between the six gangs intensified over the next few dats. Eventually , the six gangs were locked in a stalemate, and yet no one refused to budge and give up her place to the other. The leaders then went their seperate ways. Each of the leaders remembered the letter that the maestro said to open up at the time of great necessity. They needed to hear him again, to be able to know what to do.
Act 3 scene 1
In the beginning of time, when the Great Dance Maestro was in his youth, and the six dance gangs had not yet come into exsistence, he had a vision m and took six protege under his care and guidance. The first was swift, the second clear-headed/wise, the third loyal, the forth imaginative, the fifth righteous and the last a true leader. The Great Dance Maestro bestowed to each of his protege an emblem which all the six of them accepted and kept with much pride. The Great Dance maestro was greatly revered by the six gang leaders and the leaders had always taken his advice as their guiding light. He had never divulged his intended truth and plan to them, as he had meant for them to discover it by their own means.
After several years, the Dance Maestro unexpectedly called for a grand meeting for all the six leaders of the city to attend. In that very meeting, he proposed a master plan to choreograph a dance that would give this great city a common identity. With that, he elucidated that such an identity would allow the city to exceed the individuality and vibrancy that it currently has. The six leaders found the idea absurd as a combined dance would ignore their unique individual talents and abilities, leading to a huge dispute with some supporting the maestro’s idea and other disagreeing with it. In midst of the argument, he stood up and walked into his office, requesting to see each of the leaders at a time. To each leader he passed a letter which should never be opened except at a time of utmost necessity. Each leader was made to promise not to share this letter with anyone else or let anyone know about it.
Act 3 scene 2
Act 3 Scene 1
The six leaders back with their own gangs dug up the letter that the Great Dance Maestro had given to them so very long ago. Each gang was also unaware that their neighbouring gangs had in their possession a similar letter too. The letter led them on their individual mind-boggling quests - a quest to understand the true message that the Dance Maestro had left for them.
The letter left in each of the gangs’ possession. They understood the letter to mean that all along the Great Maestro had a presage that one day he was to be murdered by the one deceitful traitor, and that the Maestro had tasked for them, The Chosen Ones, to ascertain the identity of the killer and avenge the Maestro.
Act 4 scene 1
With every stage of the quest, they thought they were one step closer to determining the traitor, but eventually when they neared the end of the quest, they found that the "clues" had not led them to a greater conclusion, and had only served to confuse them further. Through the quest however, they could see the stunning qualities of their gang shining through, as well as their weaknesses. [how to bring this through the external hunt]. The final clue of the quest only led all of them back to the heart of the city (NJC), where all of them were appalled to see each other there. They were more puzzled and perplexed than ever, and each felt that something was amiss. They had misinterpreted the Great Dance Maestro's letter! In their hearts, they could feel that something was amiss.
Act 5
From the final clue, it led them to the heart of the city where they were told that they would have to face off with the traitors. The 6 leaders met in the city and were stunned. They couldn’t doubt the Great Maestro’s words and this led to the WAR GAMES. They trusted his words, if they had to destroy the traitors, the other leaders, then they had to fight it out.
However, after the war games, they realised that it only brought destruction. From under the shadows, appeared the Great Dance Maestro. The 6 leaders, in their dishevelled states, were all in shock. He had faked his disappearance! His appearance received different responses (up to the house captains to decide). The Great Dance Maestro was disappointed in all of them. He was there at the battle scene as they had imagined.
“Have you not realised that the six of you are all the traitors in the poem? To refuse to step up to the bigger floor, the stage for everyone to stand on, has left you in your current states. Have you not realised that the dance that I wanted all of you to know, are already in your hearts? The fusion dance has already been part of your journey. Now get up and show me what it means to be one city!” said the Great Dance Maestro.
The gangs understood what the great Dance Maestro meant, through all the thick and thin, they know the true meaning of living in Step City, ready to face all the numerous challenges to come.
Step up to the challenge. For every experience begins with the first step.
